Services Willow offers

I offer a variety of counseling services to meet your needs. Some clients may begin counseling services and then decide their situation would better be addressed in individual, couples, or family counseling. All sessions are 50-55 minutes in length. Willow Rose Counseling, LLC provides Tricare insurance at this time. I am a certified "out of network provider" and you will likely require a referral to obtain counseling. You may need a referral from your PCP, an authorization, and may have a copay/deductible. Please call Tricare to complete  the referral process before booking a session.  If I do not carry your insurance, I can provide you with the necessary information required by your insurance company to submit a claim for reimbursement. If you are planning on reimbursement, please confirm all details with your insurance company prior to your first visit.

I am hosting only virtual sessions at this time.  All sessions are 50-55 minutes in length via a HIPPA compliant confidential modality. Many of my clients find it difficult to commute for therapy within the NOVA area. You can complete a session at the end of your work day or within the comfort of your own home!

Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a joint process between a therapist and a client in therapy. Common goals of therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone. Therapy can help people overcome obstacles to their well-being. It can increase positive feelings, such as compassion and self-esteem. Individuals in therapy can learn skills for handling difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching their goals. Many find they enjoy the therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware and confident. Some people even attend ongoing therapy for self-growth. Individual counseling can help you deal with many personal topics in life including: depression, anxiety, trauma, marriage & relationship challenges, family issues/communication, divorce recovery, parenting problems, school difficulties, addiction, transitions, and anger management.

Family Counseling

Willow often provides family sessions or parenting sessions in conjunction with teen/child individual sessions to obtain parenting concern, updates, and perspective. Family therapy is designed to address specific issues that affect the psychological health of the family, such as major life transitions or mental health conditions. It it often used as a complementary approach to an individual's sessions. Families can benefit from therapy when they experience any stressful events that place strain on family relationships, (financial hardships, divorce, or the death of a loved one). In addition, it can be effective in treating mental health concerns that impact the family as a whole including: depression, substance abuse, chronic illness, or everyday concerns, such as communication problems, interpersonal conflict, or behavioral problems in children & adolescents. Family counseling aims to promote understanding and collaboration among family members. For example, if a child is having social/academic problems, therapy will focus on the family patterns that may contribute to the child's acting out, rather than evaluating the child's behavior alone. Identifying  dysfunctional family patterns and introducing new healthier systemic patterns can cause positive and lasting change for the family.

Couples Counseling

Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which most often a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist [LMFT], helps two people involved in a romantic relationship gain insight into their relationship, resolve conflict, and improve relationship satisfaction utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions.  We will begin by looking into what works well in the relationship and help you to strengthen your connection. Then, we will examine your relationship's negative patterns. Finally, you will learn new, healthy patterns of relating in order to help you create the relationship you have always wanted. If you are committed to the process, it possible for you to have a long and lasting, happy marriage.
